Lynn Petersen

Lynn Petersen Carpenter lives in Winnetka, Illinois now..and here's a snippet from a letter she wrote us:

"I am enclosing a snapshot so that you and others can see the "98 Lynne. My hair became dark as soon as I left California for Northwestern, and the plumpness reflects contentment, I guess!

I taught art for a few years, did a little art work before having my second child, but then my creative energies were directed towards remodeling, decorating, gardening and local conservation. My latest efforts include creating a prairie garden and native woodland garden at our cabin in Wisconsin and redoing our townhouse garden into a Japanese garden. I spent 11 years as a single parent and worked in marketing for AT&T. In the 9 years I have been remarried, my husband and I have traveled to many parts of the world with birds being the primary interest or a side interest to the trip. Fortunately, he enjoys birds, too!

I am now retired and have spent four years on a new birder's guide to the Chicago area. I enjoy having the time to take advantage of the continuing ed classes at Northwestern University and all the cultural offerings in our great city of Chicago. I continue to do a lot of biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing and birdwatching and planning travel and birding trips.
